Whale watching is spectacular around the globe, but most places are limited to seeing whales only certain times of year depending on the migration patterns.
Here in Costa Rica we’re fortunate to have whales year round as we benefit from two opposite migrations. We get to enjoy both the California Humpback Whales and the Antarctic Humpback Whales as they swap positions in the north and south.
August through October is the best time to whale watch in Manuel Antonio, meaning we’re right in that window! Humpbacks are known for putting on a good show as they spend plenty of time at the water’s surface. While we might be known for our rain forest, there’s lots to see and do in the water as well!
