Reserving a Villa

Guests are required to put a non-refundable 50% deposit when booking their reservation. The non-refundable balance on the reservation is due 60 days prior to check in and will be processed on the credit card provided for deposit unless Tulemar Resort reservations department is otherwise notified.

We understand that many times several families or individuals are sharing rental units. For that reason, we will accept multiple credit card payments on any reservation. It is important the individual calling in with their credit card information provide the reservations department with the reservation number (when assigned) and the dollar amount that they will be paying. All payments are non- refundable. Charges will appear as “Luxury Destinations Management Partners” on your credit card statement.

The only time of the year that there is a minimum stay required is during the December/January holiday season, at which time the minimum stay is 7 nights. Please see the rates page to see the dates for the current year.

A guest could cancel their reservation at any time, however any deposits or payments made on the reservation are non-refundable. Cancellations will only be accepted in writing, please send to [email protected].

We will accept requests on bedding configurations for your rental; however, we cannot guarantee all requests will be met. We do our best to honor all requests and requests are accepted on a first come, first served basis.

Upon check out you will receive a guest summary report for charges you have incurred while vacationing at Tulemar Resort. This initial charge will be processed at time of check out. Post check out charges, those that were not available at time of check out will be charged separately, approximately 1 to 2 days after check out. Please note that these charges will appear on your credit card statement as Sunset Villas of Manuel Antonio. Transportation

When visiting Costa Rica, guests will fly internationally into San Jose, Costa Rica (airport code SJO). From there, there are 3 options:

Tulemar Resort reservation representative can arrange for ground transportation. This is private transportation for just you and your traveling companions. The ride is approximately 2 1/2 hours. Please contact Tulemar Resort for current pricing.

Commercial Flights: from San Jose to Quepos, approximately a 25-minute flight. This flight can be booked directly at www.flysansa.com or www.natureair.com. Tulemar Resort staff can then arrange for ground transportation from the Quepos airport to the property. (Approximately a 10-15 minute drive) Tulemar Resort reservation staff can also book private charter flights for parties of up to 18 people. Please contact Tulemar Resort for current pricing.

Renting a vehicle: There are several car rental establishments at the San Jose airport in which to rent a vehicle. Please note that if you are not familiar with the roads in Costa Rica, self-driving may take over 3 hours.   The roads are well-paved and easy to navigate.

Property/Manuel Antonio Information

Upon arrival, you will give the representative at the main Tulemar Gardens Condominium gatehouse your name. He/she will direct you to the Reception area, where you will be met by one of the Tulemar Resort concierges. At this point, you will complete the proper check in forms and put a credit card on file for incidentals on property.  He/she will process your check in and escort you to your villa to familiarize you with your unit. Our driver and/or concierge will also assist you with transporting your bags to your unit.

Tulemar Resort offers breakfast, lunch, dinner, and full bar services at Tule Cafe our on-site restaurant.   Tule Café and Victoria’s Restaurant also offer various room services.   In addition to our services, there are many restaurants in close walking distance and/or a short taxi ride from the property.

The Tulemar Beach is at the bottom of the hill within the Tulemar Gardens Condominium property. The walk from the top of the hill to the beach is approximately 15 minutes depending on your physical ability. It is a steep incline so the return walk would be about 25 minutes back to the main gate. For your convenience, Tulemar Resort has a courtesy van that will transport you to any location within the Tulemar Gardens Condominium property, this is a free service for all guests.

The Manuel Antonio public beach is approximately a 10-minute taxi ride from Tulemar Resort. You can request that your concierge have a taxi pick you up on the property to take you to the beach. Return taxis are readily available.

The Manuel Antonio National Park is adjacent to the public beach. The Manuel Antonio public beach is approximately a 10-minute taxi ride from Tulemar Resort. You can request that your concierge have a taxi pick you up on the property to take you to the beach. Return taxis are readily available.  If you prefer, you can set up a tour of the Manuel Antonio National Park, which will include transportation.

There are a wide variety of activities for all ages.  Please view the “Activities” tab on our site for full details of tours and in-unit spa services available.   Check with your concierges for local celebrations and festivals that may be going on during your stay. 

Vacationing at Tulemar Resort

We do require a credit card on file at check in and you cannot check in with out this information. Even if you do not plan on charging anything to your villa, we require this for any potential damage or breakage to items that may occur in your villa during your stay.

At the time of check out, you will be presented with a Guest Services summary to review your charges that are received by the time of your check out. Please note that phone charges and last-minute Villa charges may not be available at the time of your checkout and will be processed separately.

Yes, Tulemar Resort concierges are on staff from 6am – 10pm to assist you with all your vacation needs.

General/Other

Tulemar Resort offers free WIFI from all units and all pools.

The phone number to the main switchboard within the Tulemar Resort is: 011-506-2777-9121. The caller would need to know your villa number, which will be assigned to you at check in. Once they have this number, they would simply dial it in when the recorded message picks up. They could also select “0” to speak with an operator to ask for you by the last name that the reservation is under.

You will have to check with your cell phone provider.

No, you do not need to bring towels. Tulemar Resort provides in unit towels, pool towels and beach towels to guests.

Yes, each bedroom has its own safe. You set the safe with your own personal identification number.

Tulemar Resort works with an independent medical doctor in Manuel Antonio who is available on a 24-hour basis and will come to your villa. He charges approximately $150 for a visit and will provide a bill, which should be accepted by most medical insurance companies. There is also a hospital in Quepos for more serious issues.

Yes, there is a phone in your villa with an answering machine. Local and international dialing instructions are posted in unit.

A 10% service charge is usually added to your restaurant bill. Gratuities are not included for drivers, maids, guides or other staff but are customary and left to your discretion as an individual expression of appreciation. $1.00 to $5.00 per person a day depending on the level of service. Tip luggage handlers $1.00 per bag and maids from $1.00 – $3.00 per day per room.

The official currency of Costa Rica is the Colon, but U.S. dollars are widely accepted. If you have denominations of $20 or less, most, if not all places, including taxis, will take the U.S. dollars and will give you change in Costa Rica Colones. If you only have high denomination bills, you may need to go to the bank.

U.S. dollars and travelers’ checks can be exchanged in banks between 9:00am and 3:00 pm Monday thru Friday. You will need to bring your passport with you to change currency. Major credit cards are accepted at most restaurants throughout the country. ATMs are available Manuel Antonio and there are two conveniently located across the street from the property, at the Promerica Bank complex and Banco de Costa Rica. These ATMs dispenses both Costa Rica Colones and U.S. Dollars.

Most independent guides and tours only accept cash.

There are washer/dryers in the Tulemar Casas only.

No, a laundering service for guest items is not available at the Tulemar Resort Hotel. Many of our larger 2-, 3- and 4-bedroom units have washers and dryers though.  Please contact us for details.

The electrical outlets in Costa Rica are 110V, the same as in the U.S.

Yes, each bathroom has its own hair dryer.

The Tulemar Beach is not clothing optional. To adhere to the Costa Rican law, all guests must wear swimwear at the beach and while in the ocean.

If you forget something on site, we can get them back to you within approximately one month. There is a $50 fee for this service plus the cost of shipping. When you contact us regarding your lost item, we will require the shipping address and credit card information for payment.
