We had a wonderful week staying at Bungalow Vista del Mar 118. Tulemar is a magical place that is both luxuriously comfortable and right in the middle of the natural habitat of Costa Rica. It is near the Manuel Antonio national park, but many of the same animals that live in the park also live in and around Tulemar. One of the activities we did was a Sloth Walk where we saw more than 20 sloths that live in various trees all within Tulemar.
Our bungalow was a comfortable space with two queen beds in the bedroom and a queen size pull out couch in the living room. The small kitchen was perfect for making ourselves breakfast in the room each morning as well as heating up leftovers from many of the delicious and plentiful meals we had at restaurants for dinner. The balcony was a great viewing point for the ocean, the sunset and a variety of monkeys and birds who were hanging out nearby throughout our stay.
Fabio was our concierge from Tulemar VIP Guest Services and made organizing our trip easy including planning a full week of activities in advance (national park tour, nighttime tour of the forest and animals, surfing, zip lining, and a waterfall tour), helping us throughout our stay with restaurant recommendations and reservations, arranging to have our laundry done, and organizing taxis to and from dinner. He also surprised us with a few treats including banana bread, brownies and a bottle of Cava for New Year’s Eve!
Tulemar itself is essentially a mountain side from the main road down to the beach, which is nice for some exercise for those who like a bit of a workout but they also have a shuttle that will pick you up and drop you off anywhere within Tulemar. I found myself walking down to the beach and then calling the shuttle for the ride back up. They also have staff on the beach to provide towels and access to kayaks, as well as Wi-Fi for those who can’t be unplugged for too long.
I would definitely recommend Tulemar and Manuel Antonio to anyone looking for a Costa Rica experience with access to a huge variety of activities and amazing hospitality.

Paradise on Earth Everyone is a VIP at Tulemar! 10 of us spent a week at Casa de Frutas in early November. VIP service lead by Concierge Chris and his team of Yadira, Oscar and Tony – unparalleled 5-star treatment! Cannot imagine planning this dream vacation without Chris. His service began months before we ever touched down in Costa Rica. Adventures were recommended and booked, transportation reserved, private chef meal organized, groceries delivered and all questions answered prior to our arrival. Every day we were pampered by Chris, Yadira, Oscar and Tony with exceptional service, food, floral arrangements, housekeeping, and laundry. Definitely miss those fresh fruit juices and scrumptious baked goods! Our group enjoyed arrangements made by Chris for waterfall tour, afternoon boat ride and canyoning tour. Sloth tour at Tulemar was so informative and helped us spot them throughout our stay. So grateful for advice of team to not overbook and remember to enjoy amenities of Tulemar: wildlife, beach, kayaking, pools, etc. Probably our favorite adventure was relaxing on the balcony enjoying coffee in the morning or happy hour in the evening while being entertained by the abundance of wildlife including monkeys, sloths and macaws and toucans. Needless to say, Tulemar was a trip of a lifetime and one we will find hard to match unless we return. Pura Vidaread moreread less

I would like to begin by saying that every person working at Tulemar made us feel like we were the only guests at the resort. We were treated like family rather than tourists. Jorge, our concierge, truly became the face of the resort for us. Any concern or issue we had was handled promptly and seamlessly by him, ensuring there was little to no interruption to our stay. Because of this exceptional level of care and hospitality, Tulemar Resort now holds the number one spot as our greatest international travel experience.

Casa Del Mar almost heaven Tulemar is a magical place! It has a beautiful private beach, the Tule Cafe has good food & drinks. You can eat in & watch the sunset or have it delivered to the beach or your villa. The villa Del Mar was perfect with a wonderful view. It was clean & beds were so comfortable. All rooms had A/C & ceiling fans. Scarlett Macaws flew by every day. Freddy was the best concierge! We arrived on my birthday & he & our housekeeper, Ariel, presented me with a cake & balloons! Freddy arranged a private guided tour of Manuel Antonio National Park lead by Ivan that was a highlight to our visit. We highly recommend the Tulemar morning sloth tour presented by the Tulemar Sloth Institute as we would never have seen so many sloths without this! You know it’s a wonderful place when you are discussing a return visit before you have finished the current visit. Also, recommend the Monarca cafe as the food is excellent & so fun to eat with the butterflies! Shout out the the Tulemar shuttle drivers as they made moving around the resort quick & easy & make sure you bring a lot of $1 so you can tip them as they work long & hard! Also a shout out to David who took excellent care of us at the beach & be sure to tip him as well!read moreread less

This place and the people were magical. We loved being at a resort with a private beach! It made daily swims in the ocean so easy. The staff are the best – friendly and joyful. Our private concierge was Jorge and he was amazing. Lots of animals on the property too (although you definitely want to go to the full park tour). Highly recommend this place!!

Birthday Celebration trip Text: Amazing Stay at Tulemar – Villa 159 Mirador We chose Tulemar to celebrate a birthday based on a recommendation, and it was absolutely perfect. We stayed in Villa 159 Mirador, and if you’re booking at Tulemar, be sure to choose a villa with VIP concierge service. Ours came with Freddy, who truly made our stay unforgettable. He handled everything—excursions, transportation to Quepos, and airport transfers—with complete ease. As Freddy liked to say, “Any questions, just ask Freddy.” And he meant it. Nothing was ever an issue, and thanks to him, we never had a moment of concern. The resort is set on a steep hillside, and the walk to the beach was beautiful—we regularly saw sloths, agoutis, squirrel monkeys, and capuchin monkeys along the way. A shuttle is also available if needed. The beach is fantastic, with towels, boogie boards, and kayaks included, and food and drinks can be delivered right to your chair from Tulecafe. One of the best tips we got was to take the sloth walk on day one. It gave us so much insider knowledge on how to spot wildlife throughout the week. The villa itself was incredible. The views and sunsets were stunning, and we had daily visits from squirrel and capuchin monkeys. Scarlet macaws and toucans frequently appeared in the nearby trees as well. Overall, an unforgettable stay. Highly recommend Tulemar—and especially Villa 159 Mirador with Freddy as your concierge.read moreread less

Great family trip, amazing animals everywhere, pristine beautiful beaches This was our first trip as a family out of the country, and it was amazing! Everything about Tulemar was great, the service, the rooms, the amenities (beach and pools), and the restaurants. The location is great in Manual Antonio, and the every tour we took was excellent. Highly recommend for value, service, beaches, family environment, and our concierge Laura was amazing. Highly, highly, highly recommend!read moreread less

Tulemar has every option one could want between small condos to multifamily villas. Everyone is so kind and helpful and the food options at the resort along with the restaurants within walking distance make it hard to match for a national park west Costa Rica resort.

The hotel is located in the best possible spot, offering a stunning view and being very close to Manuel Antonio National Park. The room and surrounding areas are very clean, and the rooms themselves are spacious, with a large living area and a fully equipped kitchen. However, the rooms are somewhat outdated and would benefit from renovation and redesigned décor.
The staff is excellent—friendly, attentive, and always helpful. The nearby beach is beautiful, with sunbeds, umbrellas, and great food service.
We will definitely come back!

Costa Rican Paradise We spent a week at Tulemar resort as a family and had an amazing time. We cannot wait to go back! There were many highlights but specifically the staff, wildlife and nature made our experience incredible. Ariel was an attentive and friendly house cleaner who took care of everything, chefs José and Jalil made outstanding meals, Gina was an excellent host, Miguel was an amazing concierge and Alex and Johan always greeted us with a smile and drove us safely around the resort. The property itself is pristine and teeming with wildlife. We saw monkeys, sloths, iguanas and many tropical birds. The beach was perfect and very kid friendly. The casa comfortably held our whole family and the views were spectacular. Thank you everyone at Tulemar for a wonderful stay!read moreread less

Perfect home away from home We just returned from our very first, but definitely not last, one week stay at Tulemar. We are a family of 6 adults and two young children and stayed in Casa Las Lapas. This was our first time in Costa Rica so we didn’t know what to expect and were extremely happy! The casa was spotless thanks to our fabulous housekeeper Ariel! And concierge Miguel went above and beyond with taking care of our every need from booking excursions, arranging for private chefs (we had 3 dinners and two breakfasts created by amazing chefs Jose, Jalil and Gina), finding a high chair for our toddler, car seats for the two little ones and overall making sure we felt at home. The Tulemar property is beyond description – gorgeous, safe beach with direct access by foot or via the included shuttle van. We were living right in the jungle with daily visits from the cheeky monkey tribe and many, many birds, sloths and lizards. There was really no need to leave the property! The resort is a few minute walk to many restaurants, spas, shops and markets so no need for a car rental. All transportation was arranged by Miguel, including the 3-4 hour transfer from the San Jose airport to the resort. There is so much more I could include as this was truly a perfect home away from home for our family! Pura vida!read moreread less

Casa de Frutas: Our slice of paradise for a week! Concierge Chris and his team of Jadira, Oscar and Tony spoiled us rotten. Chris coordinated shuttles, tours and reservations while providing 5 star service. Every day was another surprise or special treat.
Housekeeping and maintenance team were incredible with gorgeous floral arrangements, fruit carvings, specialty welcome and exit service.
Immersed in the beauty of Costa Rica greenery, ocean views and abundant wildlife, Tulemar is what I can only imagine as a little bit of Heaven on Earth!

The staff and the location are incredible! We stayed at Casa de Frutas and had a remarkable view of the ocean, and monkeys playing in the trees most mornings around 5 or 6 AM. The staff go above and beyond to take care of you and it’s situated in the middle of a Sloth Institute! I highly recommend the sloth tour and other local excursions such as the Waterfall Tour and Ziplining!

A nature lovers dream vacation. Wild life lovers dream vacation. Got a premium bungalow with a balcony. Get the balcony! 1000 percent worth it! Had 3 separate visits from monkeys on our balcony. They were very curious. Saw more monkeys and sloths than I could begin to count. Service was fantastic and maid service did an amazing job keeping everything clean. Shuttle drivers were great. All staff was helpful in pointing out wildlife. Beds were very hard in our unit ( only negative of resort). Be prepared for cost of food in town all pretty expensive. We ate about half of our meals for the week at the resort and the rest of the meals outside of the resort spent about $2000 for a week of food for 2 adults and 2 children. We took 4 tours and all were awesome. Beach was fun, kids loved the buggie boards. Our concierge Migel was so helpful. He even checked on us after a small earthquake we experienced while in Costa Rica.read moreread less
