Costa Rica’s Blue Flag Program was established to protect our country’s coastal ecosystems. The program awards beaches with a Blue Flag when they meet certain criteria, ensuring that beaches are kept clean, their ecosystems protected, and the area safe for tourists. Factors such as water quality, sanitation areas, garbage containers, security and more are all rated. Due to the popularity of the program, Blue Flags are also now awarded to communities upholding similar standards.
We are proud to have received another Blue Flag for the 13th consecutive year, guaranteeing that our guests get to enjoy a healthy ecosystem when visiting our beach. This year we were also awarded a Blue Flag for our Tulemar Gardens community, acknowledging the environmental standards that our entire property abides by.
